We believe the Cariboo Tru-Sleep Cot Mattress is the safest choice in cot mattress:
-Naturally hypoallergenic– memory foam is naturally hypoallergenic because it’s dense nature makes it hard for dust-mites and allergens to breed compared to spring or PU foam mattresses https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12028120/
-No nasty chemicals – 3rd party lab tested as free from known harmful chemicals as per REACH and EN71-3.
-Firmness tested – the mattress has been 3rd party lab tested to the firmness requirements of the Consumer Goods (Infant Sleep Products) Safety Standard 2025.
-Mould prevention - the mattress features a double sided removable waterproof cover to prevent accidents creating mould and nasty chemical emissions inside the mattress core.

Why is a waterproof cot mattress so important?

Both sides of the Cariboo Tru-Sleep Mattress feature a natural breathable cotton waterproof cover. This prevents moisture entering the inner core of the mattress and fabric producing mould. Mould and other dust-like fungi that can form with moisture is known to be very harmful to human health. Do I need a mattress protector with this mattress?

Yes, we recommend you purchase a cot mattress protector and sheets. These are easier to remove in the event of an accident and add an extra layer of protection to your mattress.

The Cariboo Tru-Sleep Mattress is a standard size 130 x 69cm (and 12cm thickness) (also know as US Size in NZ) which is the most common size in Australia and New Zealand. This mattress fits all Cariboo cots plus most other brands.
